ARBELLA 1st INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
SUBJECT
“Nutrition and Alimentation”
OBJECTIVE
While holding the desire of having healthy nutrition and being a family and consequently attempting to emphasize the importance of the starting point of growing strong individuals for the country and the community, experiencing the excitement of sitting around the table and sharing a piece of bread, we wanted to remind and crown the labor of our farmers and villagers who bring these benefactions to our tables…
We aimed at conveying the facts of cooking and dining together and possibility of gathering around the table to our community from the viewfinders of our photographers. We wanted to reflect the great efforts of a piece of bread which brings the difficulties of production to our tables…
One of the most important lucks for an individual is being healthy and receiving healthy alimentation…Emphasizing the importance of significant foods within our life for healthy nutrition. We, therefore, wanted photography lovers to share us their inventive views about the facts of nutrition which they reflected to pictures they captures with their viewfinders…
By rewarding creators of the winning works, we targeted at increasing interest in the art of photography and support the power of conveying feelings through art.
PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS
- Participation in the competition is open to all photography lovers whether amateur or professional.
- In total, there are 3 categories in the competition. Contestants may participate in the first two of these categories with 4 photos black-white and/or color ones and participate in the last category with 3 photos in maximum in series consisting of thee photos.
- Competing photos need to be created in JPG format, of 300 dpi resolutions with the long edge to be adjusted at least as 3000 pixels and transmitted via website. Award and photos to be exhibited shall be printed by
ARBELLA PASTA in large sizes. That’s why due attention must be paid to resolution adjustments and photos need to be saved in the highest level of saving quality. Photographs not meeting the above rules shall be eliminated even if they pass saving stage.
- The competition is organized in three separate categories. Contestants may freely use both the classical or modern photographic technique. Trial works shall not be considered.
Competition Categories are as follows:
A- Eating Together With Appetite:
The best approaches to food preparation and/or nutrition fact will be rewarded. In this contest, authentic style works where regional values are particularly conveyed will be given priority. However, every single approach will be assessed under the major topic title.
B- Alimentation and Life with Pasta:
Works successfully demonstrating mankind’s nutrition and the pleasure added to life by Pasta will be assessed.
C- Approach to the Theme of Reasoning Out Life with Serial Photographs:
Setting out from the fact that something in human’s life is always reasoned out, we say “reason out your life, remove everything unpleasant from your life and keep what is good and nice”. Works which demonstrates the most successful approach in this area will be assessed. Participation in this category is possible only with triple serial photographs each serial consisting of 3 pictures in maximum.
The 3 photographs of the series must be consistent to each other and complete each other in terms of themes, technical and content aspects. In addition to the regional approach, tentative or creative photographs will also be assessed within this category. Awards in this category will be granted as one award for every triple serial.
Moreover, every triple work within the series will be evaluated as a single photograph during exhibition.
Photographs prepared for all categories should be sent via the internet. No printed photos or those saved on a CD
will be admitted.
• Contestants are required to completely fill in the participation form on the internet. After completing the form, the “approval box” is ticked. Once the process is completed, the system will allow photograph uploading. Participants may participate in the Arbella 1st International Photograph Competition by clicking on www.arbella.tv website.
• Participant photographers will be sent a CD containing photographs which have come in at the competition and exhibition invitation via the internet.
• In the event that photographs sent to the competition via internet sustained errors due to system, the problem will be solved as soon as possible if communication is made through iletisim@arbella.tv.
• This address shall be used only for photographs which undergo problems and photographs sent via this address shall not be considered as participation in the competition and participation shall not be admitted at all.
• Jurists, their first degree relatives and Arbella Makarna employees may not participate in the competition.
• Photographs which come in and deemed as fit for exhibition will be demonstrated in the specified areas on
Arbella Makarna website.
• In the event that any works are determined to be incompatible to competition conditions at the end of competition, the award will be taken back and will not be replaced with another work and rank and award will be left void.
• Winning photographs can be used by Arbella Makarna (Durum Gıda San. ve Tic. A.Ş) for advertisement and news making purposes in all canals. All rights of using the works shall belong to (Durum Gıda San. ve Tic. A.Ş) and work owner.
• Participant assumes all liability for any legal problem that might arise from the works he/she has sent to the competition.
• Every participant declares that the work belongs to him/her and that all licenses were obtained for the photograph he/she has sent. In the case that any of the winning participants acts in contradiction to this declaration, his/her award, title and all acquisitions he/she has obtained will be taken back.
- Participants who make intervention or modifications on the photographs and those who attempt to mislead the jury by pretending that the photograph is his/her own work although it is not,
- And participants who participate in the competition with such a work which is used as a main factor in competitions where participation of winner photos are restricted will be restricted from participating in competitions for one year period as stipulated by Competition Principles set forth by TFSF. This situation will e reported to FIAP.
Participants against whom restriction decision is granted for the abovementioned reasons may not participate in this competition throughout the validity period of such decision.
Senders of works herewith agree that the necessary consents in this matter is given by themselves and they also assume all responsibility for all disputes that may arise thereof. Arbella Makarna ve Durum Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. do not assume any liability for any disputes that may arise from this matter.
• Completion of participation form on the internet is mandatory. By clicking the approval box, participants are considered to have agreed to all terms and conditions of the specifications.
